About Ginny

Rushed care can’t reach a body that’s still bracing.

Real healing needs time, attention and a nervous system that feels safe. That’s the space Ginny Liss Roestel created at Root Heal Flourish.

Why I created Root Heal Flourish

For nearly thirty years, my hands have lived in the world of physical therapy. I love the science of it: the anatomy, and helping someone regain function after surgery or trauma. I still practice as a physical therapist assistant today.

But clinic care is measured in billing units and twenty-minute visits. A woman might arrive carrying a mastectomy, a complicated birth or years of quiet pelvic discomfort, and there’s simply no time to meet all of her. I couldn’t ignore the gap between rehabilitating an injury and truly helping a person heal.

My own story taught me that, too. In my thirties, I lived with chronic pain myself. Yoga helped me heal, and energy medicine calmed my mind and brought balance back to my energy and emotions.

So I created Root Heal Flourish, a place where clinical skill and restorative stillness share the same room. Here, women get the unhurried space, undivided attention and whole-person care their bodies have been quietly asking for.

The body releases when it feels safe

Tight muscles, guarding and bracing are often the body’s way of protecting you. Pushing harder rarely convinces them to let go. What does help is a calm, attentive space, pressure you control, and touch that tells your nervous system it’s safe to rest. That’s where every session at Root Heal Flourish begins.

My faith is part of who I am, and it shapes the care and intention I bring to every session. Women of every faith, or none, are equally welcome here.

What I wish more women knew about their bodies

Your body is not broken; it is compensating to protect you.

Guarding, tightness and postural shifts are survival adaptations that have outlived their usefulness. Healing begins when the tissue learns it’s safe to let go.

Stress lives in the body, too.

When we’re stuck in fight-or-flight, breathing gets shallow and tissue tightens. Chronic tension rarely yields to force. Often, a light, rhythmic touch and a full exhale help the nervous system downshift.

The core is an ecosystem, not a corset.

Constant clenching and bracing can strain the pelvic floor, restrict the breath and feed hip and low back pain. Real strength can yield and soften as well as engage.

Care is not something you must earn through exhaustion.

Your body is the only home you will ever have on this earth. Attentive care isn’t an indulgence; it’s basic maintenance for a life well lived.

A note from Ginny

A note from Ginny

Hi, I’m Ginny. I’m honored to do this work of healing.

I’ve been a licensed physical therapist assistant since 1999, and I like to say I’ve been a yogi since I was in the womb. I practiced more once I became a mother in my twenties, and more consistently as my kids grew. In my thirties, I lived with chronic pain myself. Yoga helped me heal, and energy medicine calmed my mind and brought balance back to my energy and emotions.

Today I bring all of it to you: bodywork, yoga therapy, energy medicine, prayer and meditation. These gifts serve all of us, helping us find better sleep, freedom and strength, and relief from pain.

I would be honored to talk with you and see if perhaps I can be of service to you. Thank you for considering, and I hope you have a marvelous day.

Blessings,
Ginny
